Peas like cool weather with best crops being picked in spring, but they can be grown at other times in cool areas. They do not like cold wet soils. Fertilisers rich in phosphates will assist in obtaining good crops. We highly recommend using Powdery Mildew resistant varieties when grown in warm and humid weather.
Sow the seed directly where plants are to mature, 5 cm deep and 2 to 3 cm apart. Best sown May to November in cold areas, February to August in warm areas and April to July in the tropics. Other sowing times may be possible in districts where mildew prevents growth. Expect seed to germinate in 10 days at 16 deg. C. soil temperature.
CAUTION Seed may be treated with a pre-emergence fungicide. Do not use as stock food. Only for use as SEED for SOWING,
