Onion – Salad Red


(Allium cepa).

These varieties are used before full maturity as a juicy and mild addition to salads etc. The bulbs are small and uniform. They can be sown from August to mid-October and again from mid-December to April. It is important to observe the sowing times.

Best sown August to October and again from mid December to April. Sowing times must be observed. Sow 1 cm deep, thinning to 4 cm apart.  Seed will germinate in 14 to 21 days, depending on soil temperature.  Feed well and water when conditions require it.  Not a keeping variety.

CAUTION Seed may be treated with a pre-emergence fungicide. Do not use as stock food. Only for use as SEED for SOWING.
