Cauliflower – Green Macerata


Brassica oleracea botrytis

Plants vigorous with attractive lime green heads. Matures around 3 months from transplanting. Break leaves over curd as it develops. Best sown November to February in southern areas.

A heavy feeding crop that responds well to the liberal use of animal manures. Benefits from using Sodium Molybdate on the seedbed.

Sow in seedbed 1 cm deep, transplanting 60 cm apart 6 weeks later. Break leaves over developing heart to avoid curd discolouration.  MUST be sown in December or early January for assured results.  Feed heavily and keep well watered in hot weather.  Expect germination in 7 days at 23 deg.C. soil temperature.
