Cucumber – Crystal Salad


Cucumis sativus

White skinned slightly elongated  “Apple” cucumber.  Flesh is crisp and sweet. Skin is white with green flecks. Earlier maturing than older types.

Sow 1cm deep October to December (cold), September to January (temp), August to March (trop),

Sow seed 2 cm deep in groups of 3 seed, thinning to the strongest after germination, after all danger of frost has passed. Needs fertile soil.  Space groups 45 cm apart.  Best sown October to December (cold), September to January (warm) and August to March in the tropics.  Expect germination in 7 – 10 days at 26 deg. C. soil temperature. Keep plants well-watered and pick fruit before they begin to yellow. Avoid transplanting. 

CAUTION Seed may be treated with a pre-emergence fungicide. Do not use as stock food. Only for use as SEED for SOWING.
