Plants have deep burgundy leaves and attractively zoned roots when sliced.  Baby leaves are ideal for leafy mixes.  Roots excellent as “Baby Beets”, or when larger.

Sow September to January (cold), July to March (temp), AYR (trop), in soil well manured for the previous crop. Sow 1-2cm deep in rows 15cm apart. Thin seedlings out to about 5cm apart, or further for larger roots. Expect germination in 10 to 15 days at 24 deg. C. soil temperature. Feed well and keep watered in hot weather.
