An attractive bold biennial to 2 metres. Grown for both its ornamental value and for its liquorice flavoured stems and leaves. Makes a good ornamental.

Sow the seed in Spring after refrigerating for 6 to 8 weeks. Sow direct, or transplant to 1 metre apart. Seed needs light to germinate, so a light covering of vermiculite is recommended. Plants thrive in fertile well drained soils and cooler climates. Expect germination in 3 weeks at 18 deg. C .soil temperature.  Seed is short lived.  Refrigerate or sow on receipt.
